Softball Recap: Lincoln County Falcons vs. Richland Raiders        
        
		
            
 After flying high against Shelbyville Central  on Monday, Lincoln County came back down to earth. The Lincoln County Falcons took  a  5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richland Raiders on Tuesday. Lincoln County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Richland apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in April of 2021.
  Mia Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five  runs (all of which were unearned)  on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in ten consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, Lincoln County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Brinley Moran, who  went 2-for-3 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Even though they lost, Lincoln County  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with five  strikeouts. This was only their third loss (out of 11 games) when  they post five or more  strikeouts.
 Lincoln County's defeat  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 25-12. As for Richland, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-3.
 Lincoln County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Richland, they are on the road again  on Friday to play Summertown at 5:00  p.m. Richland's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5  runs per game  this season, so Summertown's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
