Football Recap: Tristan Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Indianapolis Scecina Memorial over Monrovia

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Indianapolis Scecina Memorial can now relate to. They lost to the Monrovia Bulldogs at home by a 47-29 margin on Friday. If the Crusaders were looking for revenge after losing 42-19 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Brown, who picked up 147 receiving yards and one score, and also threw for 11 yards and one touchdown. The Crusaders also got a significant boost from Gavin Connel, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.

Monrovia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Coewen Stinson, who rushed for 125 yards and one TD on only 15 carries. Those 125 rushing yards gave Stinson a new career-high. Ryder Bain was another key player, rushing for 71 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Monrovia, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-6 record.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monrovia, they will be playing at home against Heritage Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
