League recap: Canyon Lake scores huge upset over Fredericksburg

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Fredericksburg, who took down 530th ranked Fredericksburg, 27-17. Branson Belcher threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns and ran for eight yards in the win.

NOAH NELSON and JONATHAN STOUFFLET provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Wimberley. The longest such play in 3A Region IV District 27 this season, the connection resulted in 84 yards.

Boerne's dynamic duo of Quinten Dormady and Paul Burns proved tough for Navarro to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dormady threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns and Burns had 140 yards receiving. Bradly Veselka helped Boerne's passing attack out by catching five balls for 92 yards.

Lj Anderson was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 156 yards on 13 carries as the Panthers fell to the Panthers. Evan Deleon also contributed to the rushing game with 115 yards on the ground.

Boerne's Dormady and Veselka have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Dormady has thrown for 1698 yards this season, while Veselka has 26 catches for 485 yards. MICHAEL MILLER from Bandera leads the league in rushing with 735 yards.

A big matchup in 3A Region IV District 27 this week will be when Navarro takes on the Texans. Les Goad's team is in first place, while Wimberley is in third place.

Canyon Lake moved up to 661 from 709 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Canyon Lake climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Billies 27-17.
