Volleyball Recap: Archbishop Ryan Takes a Loss

Archbishop Ryan kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Upper Merion Area Vikings. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders and Ragdolls in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost five in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Upper Merion Area to victory, but perhaps none more so than Valeria Paneto, who had ten digs and two assists. Paneto has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 15 times she's played.

The victory got Upper Merion Area back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Archbishop Ryan will face off against Germantown Academy at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Upper Merion Area, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Freedom on the 30th.
