Baseball Recap: Lakeland Hawks vs. Lewiston Bengals
Lakeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lewiston Bengals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bengals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 on Saturday.
Jace Taylor was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Taylor was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Taylor wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tadgh Ellwood, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
