Football Recap: Calvert Comes Up Short

If Calvert was feeling good fresh off their 61-0 takedown of Pawnee last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans were beaten by the Cherokee Indians 64-16 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Indians are ranked 62nd).

Calvert's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-5. As for Cherokee, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Calvert does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cherokee, they will welcome Rochelle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
