Basketball Game Preview: Silver Lake Eagles vs. St. Marys Bears

Silver Lake has won three straight games at home, while St. Marys has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. Silver Lake knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully St. Marys likes a good challenge.

Two weeks ago, Silver Lake was able to grind out a solid victory over Hiawatha, taking the game 70-57. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Red Hawks are ranked 128th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Marys). They simply couldn't be stopped two weeks ago as they easily beat Maranatha Christian Academy 77-48.

St. Marys' win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Silver Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Silver Lake beat St. Marys 67-55 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Does Silver Lake have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Marys turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
