Basketball Recap: Canton's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Canton came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 52-48 win over the Brookeland Wildcats.

Cade Morgan and Landon Smith certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Morgan dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards, while Smith posted 25 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Smith's morning made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Canton has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Brookeland, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canton will host Mabank at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Brookeland, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Burkeville at 7:00 p.m. Brookeland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.5 points per game this season.
