Baseball Recap: Jarrell Comes Up Short

Jarrell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 28-4 to the Hallettsville Brahmas. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Brahmas apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2016.

Jarrell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Vigil, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Another was Camden Brunson, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Jarrell's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hallettsville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Jarrell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-2 defeat against Gonzales on the 21st. As for Hallettsville, they have also already played their next game, a 15-4 victory against Lexington on the 20th.
