Basketball Recap: Velva Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Velva came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 66-60 W over the Harvey Hornets. Given the Aggies' advantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Hornets are ranked 62nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Velva pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.9 points. As for Harvey, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Velva will square off against Nedrose at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Harvey has already played their next matchup (against Carrington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
