Washington has gone 8-2 against SouthWest Edgecombe recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Washington Pam Pack will be playing in front of their home fans against the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Washington's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
Last Friday, Washington got the win against North Pitt by a conclusive 90-65. The Pam Pack haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Washington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chaise Smith out in front who posted 19 points in addition to six assists and five boards. What's more, Smith also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jarryn Payne, who put up 21 points and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but SouthWest Edgecombe ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Ayden - Grifton, sneaking past 69-66. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Chargers are ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Washington better keep an eye on Justin Bridgers. He was instrumental in SouthWest Edgecombe's win, dropping a triple-double on 16 points, 14 boards, and ten blocks. Bridgers is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 12 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zy Thigpen, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 15 points and five assists.
SouthWest Edgecombe has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points over those games. As for Washington, they pushed their record up to 16-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Tuesday's game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Smith and Thigpen. Smith has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 20 points, 2.1 steals, and 6.4 assists. For his part, Thigpen has averaged 14.7 points, 2.3 steals, and 4.4 assists on 52.3% shooting.
Washington strolled past SouthWest Edgecombe in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 63-49. Does Washington have another victory up their sleeve, or will SouthWest Edgecombe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
