Softball Game Preview: Hope Bobcats vs. Nashville Scrappers

Hope is 0-9 against Nashville since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bobcats will square off against the Scrappers at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Hope challenged Camden Fairview on Friday. The Bobcats' pitchers stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 13-0 shutout. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Nashville hadn't done well against Malvern recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Scrappers were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Leopards. Surprisingly, this marked the seventh straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Nashville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Hope, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.

Hope suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Nashville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
