Honaker came tearing into Thursday's match with 20 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Grundy Golden Wave with a sharp 64-38 win. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Golden Wave are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Honaker's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carey Keene, who went 7-for-16 en route to 19 points and five steals. Keene has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Kalli Miller was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to ten steals and five boards.

Honaker pushed their record up to 22-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.2 points over those games. As for Grundy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.

As of now, neither Honaker nor Grundy have any future games scheduled.
