Baseball Recap: Wister Has No Trouble Against Warner

Wister's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Warner Eagles with a sharp 9-3 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Jayden Byars, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jagger Dodson, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Wister's record now sits at 9-2. As for Warner, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-1 record this season.

Wister will square off against Cameron at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Wister 4, Cameron 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Warner has already played their next contest (against Okemah), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
