Basketball Recap: Meridian Snags Ninth Win in Last Ten Games

Meridian had won four straight road games and Nora Stufft did her part to make it five on Tuesday. The Meridian Mustangs enjoyed a cozy 37-19 win over the Liberty Eagles thanks in part to Stufft, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 14 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Despite the defeat, Liberty saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ivy Cavins posted ten points and eight rebounds.

Meridian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Liberty, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Meridian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-14 victory against Manassas Park on the 30th. Liberty has also already played their next game, a 46-26 loss against Millbrook on the 30th.
