Soccer Game Preview: Cumberland vs. Ashland

The Cumberland Beavers will venture away from home to challenge the Ashland Oredockers at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Ashland will have to contend with a Cumberland squad hungry for a win, something the team hasn't seen since the 2nd. Cumberland fell just short of Washburn by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.

The Beavers' goal came courtesy of Lan SeLLent, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Ashland fell victim to Spooner and their airtight defense back in September. They lost 6-0 to the Rails. Ashland haven't had much luck with Spooner recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Cumberland's loss dropped their record down to 5-7-5. As for Ashland, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Cumberland took their victory against Ashland in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
