Recap: Summit Academy Bears vs. Grantsville Cowboys
After losing to the Grantsville Cowboys the last time they met, the Summit Academy Bears decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Summit Academy pulled ahead with a 45-44 photo finish over Grantsville. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Summit Academy.
Summit Academy had a senior duo take command as Colbyn Draper scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals and Stewart Woodward scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals. The game was Draper's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Kyan Anderson was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Several Cowboys players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Powell, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Kell, who scored eight points.
Summit Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Grantsville, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summit Academy will be home for the holidays to greet South Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Summit will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Grantsville will be home for the holidays to greet Provo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Provo has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
