Softball Recap: Valley Heights Wins Going Away Against Wabaunsee

It's playoff time, and Valley Heights had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Wabaunsee Chargers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. The matchup marked the Mustangs' most dominant victory of the season.

Paige Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Valley Heights let Tessa Miller and Stella Martin run wild. Miller went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Martin went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles Miller has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Krista Porter, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

Valley Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Valley Heights' record now sits at 7-13. As for Wabaunsee, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15.

Valley Heights didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-2 loss against Onaga on the 20th. Wabaunsee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
