The Sharon Tigers will head out to face off against the Sharpsville Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Sharon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Sharon and Slippery Rock, and Slippery Rock kept the tradition alive. The Tigers fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. The match marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Will Beckert was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. Carmine Thomas also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Sharpsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 9-2 to Greenville.

Sharpsville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jared Bissell, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Sharon's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2. As for Sharpsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Sharon's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Sharpsville, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Sharon continue to outrun the ball?

Sharon might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Sharpsville in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
