Softball Recap: Eureka Has No Trouble Against Clinton

After losing to Clinton the last time they met, Eureka decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hornets blew past the Maroons 14-2 on Wednesday.

Eureka is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Clinton, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-16.

Coming up, Eureka is taking a road trip to take on Illinois Valley Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grey Ghosts have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. Clinton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
