Baseball Recap: Fayetteville Has No Trouble Against Childersburg

Fayetteville's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Childersburg Tigers 18-8. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

Adan Hernandez and Brenton Cantrell did most of the damage at the plate: Hernandez scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Cantrell scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Hernandez a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Burns, who scored three runs while going 1-for-4.

Fayetteville's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Childersburg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Coincidentally, Fayetteville and Childersburg will both be playing Horseshoe Bend the next time they take the field. Childersburg will host Horseshoe Bend at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Fayetteville will head out to face them at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
