Basketball Recap: Mead Takes a Loss

After flying high against Omaha Christian Academy last Friday, Mead came back down to earth. The Mead Raiders took a blow against the Johnson-Brock Eagles on Friday, falling 76-39. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brady Gartner, who en route to 11 points. What's more, Gartner also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tytus R Lee, who posted six points and six boards.

Johnson-Brock's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Koehler, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Ben Parriott also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Mead dropped their record down to 13-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Johnson-Brock, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-1.

Mead didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-54 victory against Clarkson/Leigh on the 24th. As for Johnson-Brock, they have also already played their next game, a 66-34 win against Sacred Heart on the 25th.
