Football Game Preview: Noxubee County Tigers vs. Raleigh Lions + How To Watch

The Noxubee County Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Raleigh Lions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Noxubee County comes in on seven and Raleigh on 13.

Noxubee County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Winona to the tune of 54-21. Considering Noxubee County has won seven games by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

One reason for the win was Noxubee County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: BJ Payton, Darrius Burkhalter, and Jheremy Payton, who each picked up one sack apiece. BJ was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 12 total tackles.

Meanwhile, Raleigh was able to grind out a solid victory over Seminary on Friday, taking the game 27-14. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 87th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Noxubee County's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Raleigh, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.

Noxubee County couldn't quite finish off Raleigh in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 and fell 55-52. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
