After losing to Union Mine the last time they met, Cordova decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lancers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Diamondbacks on Monday. That's two games straight that the Lancers have won by exactly two runs.

Levi Nyberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cordova's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Bargas, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Cordova and bumps their season record up to 11-8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Union Mine, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-10.

Cordova has already played their next contest, a 9-8 defeat against Bear River on the 15th. As for Union Mine, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-1 loss against Casa Roble on the 14th.
