The Camden Hills Windjammers will take on the Brunswick Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Camden Hills will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Camden Hills had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Mt. Blue on Tuesday. The Windjammers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Windjammers, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Maya Stone was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Thea Laukka and Evangelene Morneau did most of the damage at the plate: Laukka went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Morneau went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Laukka has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Brunswick was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They came up short against Messalonskee, falling 11-1.
Brunswick saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julianna Morin, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Stella Maxim also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Camden Hills' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brunswick, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Camden Hills has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Brunswick struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Camden Hills took their win against Brunswick when the teams last played on May 2nd by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Windjammers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
