Grandview had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 60-30 victory over Carl Junction. Given Grandview's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Carl Junction is ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grandview had a senior duo take command as Taniya Cruthird posted 13 points and eight boards and Jada Smith earned 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Cruthird a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lecia Martin, who scored five points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

Grandview's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Carl Junction, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
