Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Christian Wolverines vs. Concordia Christian Academy Hawks

The Northwest Christian Wolverines will venture away from home to square off against the Concordia Christian Academy Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Northwest Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Northwest Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Quilcene, taking the game 60-49.

Northwest Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dan Babber led the charge by going 7 for 14 on his way to 23 points. Babber's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jack Vahey was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Northwest Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Concordia Christian Academy). They blew past Pope John Paul II, posting a 76-39 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Northwest Christian now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Concordia Christian Academy, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-7.

Northwest Christian ended up a good deal behind Concordia Christian Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024, losing 57-39. Can Northwest Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
