Basketball Game Preview: Lunenburg Central Chargers vs. Amelia County Raiders

Lunenburg Central hasn't had much luck against Amelia County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lunenburg Central Chargers will head out to face off against the Amelia County Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lunenburg Central is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost to Goochland at home by a 61-47 margin.

Meanwhile, Amelia County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 71-39 loss at the hands of Randolph-Henry. The Raiders were down 66-35 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Lunenburg Central will have to keep a close watch on MARQUAN ROYAL and DAWSON DUNNAVANT, a pair of players who had a big impact on Amelia County's prior game. ROYAL went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points and five steals, while DUNNAVANT went 5 for 8 on his way to 11 points.

Lunenburg Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Amelia County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Lunenburg Central didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Amelia County when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 69-63 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lunenburg Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
