Softball Recap: Midway's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

After flying high against Clinton last Tuesday, Midway came back down to earth. Midway fell 3-0 to the Richlands Wildcats on Thursday. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

The loss snapped Midway's winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-2 record. As for Richlands, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midway will take on Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinton has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.38 runs per game on average), something Midway will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Richlands, they will square off against White Oak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Richlands' pitchers better be ready for this one: White Oak has averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
