Basketball Recap: Union Comes Up Short

Union lost against Monroe Central back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Union Rockets were outmatched by the Monroe Central Golden Bears and fell 63-21. The Rockets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-8.

Several Rockets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lamar Schwartz, who posted four points and six boards. Conner `Cross also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Easton Foster continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Monroe Central, dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Foster's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Jackson Konkle was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Union has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Monroe Central, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-5.

Union didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 83-35 loss against Wapahani on the 8th. As for Monroe Central, they have also already played their next matchup, a 67-31 victory against South Adams on the 11th.
