Volleyball Recap: Gideon Extends Winning Streak to Three

Gideon extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 12-1. They blew past the North Pemiscot Mustangs 3-0. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Layla Watkins paced Gideon's offense, picking up 22 kills. Watkins got some help from Aubree Sharp and her 32 assists. Karli Ashabranner controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

As for North Pemiscot, their record now sits at 9-3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since August 28th.

Despite the loss, North Pemiscot still got an impressive performance from Cheyanne Sawyer, who had 33 assists and 21 digs. With that strong performance, Sawyer is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game.

Gideon has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Bloomfield on the 19th. As for North Pemiscot, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Delta on the 22nd.
