Volleyball Recap: Nordonia Starts Season with Win at Home

Nordonia took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the Beaumont School Blue Streaks 3-0. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Streaks, too.

While Nordonia won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-23.

Rylee Kinnell paced Nordonia's offense, picking up 17 kills. Kinnell got some help from Morgan Root and her 19 assists.

Despite the defeat, Beaumont School saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Theresa Angert had 18 digs and one assist. Angert is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Coming up, Nordonia will host Medina at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beaumont School, they will head out to face off against Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
