Recap: Millennium Tigers vs. Verrado Vipers
On Thursday, The Millennium Tigers''s game was all tied up 3-3 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They strolled past Verrado with points to spare, taking the game 24-10. That's two games straight that Millennium has won by exactly 14 points.
Millennium can attribute much of their success to Titus Johnson, who threw for 115 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Millennium's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Ezra Edmond and his two sacks.
When it comes to explaining why Verrado lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jhayden Frye. Despite the final result, he rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown.
The win makes it two in a row for Millennium and bumps their season record up to 5-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 14 points. As for Verrado, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Millennium will head out on the road to face off against Sunrise Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Sunrise Mountain is ranked 40th, while Millennium is ranked 35th). As for Verrado, they will be playing at home against Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
