Yorkville and Oswego are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2019, but not for long. The Foxes will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Yorkville 8.2, Oswego 8.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
Yorkville had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 28-point drubbing they dealt Plainfield East on Friday. The Foxes breezed past the Bengals to the tune of 28-0. The Foxes' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Yorkville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Geegan, who rushed for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries. T.J. Harland helped out on the ground, rushing for 108 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Yorkville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 202 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Yorkville's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Dillon Viscogliosi, James Sapp Jr., and Tyvon Wilson, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, Oswego put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Plainfield South 24-7. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Cougars are ranked 249th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Yorkville better focus on containing Memphis Huguley and Jezhian Sprinkle as the pair were huge in Oswego's win. Huguley rushed for 86 yards and one score, while Sprinkle rushed for 92 yards.
Yorkville's record is now 4-0. As for Oswego, their record now sits at an identical 4-0.
Yorkville might still be hurting after the 27-7 defeat they got from Oswego in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Foxes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
