Softball Recap: Bracken County Comes Up Short

Bracken County extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 15-8 in the process. They came up short against the Ryle Raiders, falling 12-2. That's two games in a row now that the Polar Bears have lost by exactly ten runs.

As for Ryle, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.

For Ryle's part, Rayne Patsel was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Leah Broussard was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Looking ahead, Bracken County will face off against Robertson County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ryle, they will square off against Notre Dame Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pandas' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
