Softball Recap: New Albany Takes a Loss

New Albany came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Central Crossing Comets by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 two weeks ago.

Ava Bowersock made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

New Albany's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11. Those home losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Central Crossing, their record is now 7-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. New Albany is set to challenge their familiar foe Pickerington North at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Central Crossing will square off against rival Grove City at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
