Baseball Preview: Archbishop McNicholas Rockets vs. Roger Bacon Spartans

Steven Jostworth put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn't allow any walks). Jostworth was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Jostworth wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tatem Donels, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Roger Bacon scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Western Hills a 16-0 shutout. The win was just what Roger Bacon needed coming off of a 17-7 defeat in their prior contest.
Like Archbishop McNicholas, Roger Bacon also got a great game from a two-way player: Kyle Hauser. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hauser was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Chase Campbell was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Sam Dalid, who went 1-for-1 with a triple and a run.
Archbishop McNicholas' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Roger Bacon, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
