Basketball Game Preview: South Davidson Wildcats vs. Lexington Yellowjackets

South Davidson is 0-8 against Lexington since December of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The South Davidson Wildcats will host the Lexington Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m.

South Davidson is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They were dealt a 74-45 loss at the hands of North Rowan. The Wildcats were down 60-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Lexington took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 64-33 win over East Davidson. The Yellowjackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 29 points or more this season.

Lexington's win came from a few key players South Davidson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jayla Cowan, who posted 22 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Lily Ervin was another key player, putting up 17 points.

South Davidson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Lexington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.

South Davidson took a serious blow against Lexington when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 72-29. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point South Davidson was down 45-16.
