Football Recap: Mount Vernon Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Mount Vernon unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 32-13 to the Arlington Admirals.

Arlington was led to victory by Gianna Martin and Chase Harris. Martin rushed for 110 yards and two scores on only eight carries, while Harris threw for 130 yards and a pair of TDs.

Arlington's win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Coincidentally, Mount Vernon and Arlington will both be playing Yonkers the next time they take the field. The Admirals will host the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Knights will host them at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st.
