Softball Recap: MacArthur Comes Up Short

MacArthur extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 9-15. They came up short against the Antonian Prep Apaches, falling 18-6. If the Brahmas were looking for revenge after losing 4-2 to the Apaches when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

MacArthur saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Tober, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Antonian Prep, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Antonian Prep's side, Analisa Guerrero made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Guerrero has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Isabella Garza and Trinity Silva did most of the damage at the plate: Garza went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Silva went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Garza has posted over her last 11 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee De La Garza, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs.

Coming up, MacArthur will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Harlandale at 12:00 p.m. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.94 runs per game on average), something the Brahmas will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Antonian Prep, they will take on Eagle Pass at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
