Baseball Recap: Hampton Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

On Thursday Hampton's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Phoebus Phantoms. That's two games straight that the Crabbers have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Xavier Nixon, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycob Flores, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Hampton's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Phoebus, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Coincidentally, Hampton and Phoebus will both be playing Heritage the next time they take the field. The Phantoms will host the Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Crabbers will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
