Softball Recap: Midlothian Heritage Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Midlothian Heritage walked away with it. They never let the University Trojans get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won 18 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Skeylah Shirley was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Taylor Bilderback was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. She has been hot, having also posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Rylee Parrish, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Midlothian Heritage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in 15 consecutive games.

Midlothian Heritage pushed their record up to 26-7 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for University, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9-1.

Midlothian Heritage will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair will be back at it again later today.
