Kankakee Trinity Academy dropped down to 3-2 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 74-60 bruising from the Momence Momence Athletics. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Kankakee Trinity Academy came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Momence is ranked 320th).

As for Momence, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Momence to victory were D'Angelo Hundley and Erick Castillo. Hundley dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Castillo posted 19 points and six assists. Those 12 boards gave Hundley a new career-high. Aiden Smith was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 11 points.

Kankakee Trinity Academy will take on Schlarman in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Momence and Clifton Central will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
