Volleyball Recap: Jacob Wilkison and Brody Keathley Secure Win for Duchesne

Duchesne's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bishop DuBourg Cavaliers as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Duchesne's got stronger as the match went on, holding Bishop DuBourg to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-15, 25-12.

Duchesne was led to victory by Brody Keathley and Jacob Wilkison. Keathley had 13 digs, while Wilkison had seven digs and two aces. Those seven digs gave Wilkison a new career-high. Peter Freygang also deserves some recognition as he had his first kills of the season.

Duchesne's win bumped their record up to 8-16-1. As for Bishop DuBourg, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Duchesne will head out to face off against Orchard Farm at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pioneers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Bishop DuBourg, they are taking a road trip to square off against Holt at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
