Softball Recap: Kennedy Commanders vs. Pueblo East Eagles
Kennedy lost a close one when they played on Friday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on Friday was a bit more commanding. They came up short against the Pueblo East Eagles, falling 13-2. The Commanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kennedy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amerie Herrera, who went 1-for-2 with a home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Genesis Lujan, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Pueblo East, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Kennedy will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Liberty at 11:00 a.m. Liberty will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Pueblo East, they will take on Fountain-Fort Carson at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pueblo East is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
