Volleyball Recap: Draughn Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Draughn challenged Foard on Thursday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Tigers. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

While Draughn had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 19-25, 25-20, 25-21.

Bailey Mozeley paced Draughn's offense, picking up 15 kills. Mozeley got some help from Shelby Proffitt and her 26 assists. Proffitt was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Draughn's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Foard, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Draughn will challenge Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Foard, they will head out to challenge Hickory at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
