Softball Game Preview: SA Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Brandeis Broncos

SA Roosevelt is 0-9 against Brandeis since March of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Rough Riders will welcome the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. SA Roosevelt has given up an average of 18.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

SA Roosevelt is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 30th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Clark, falling 17-2.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Brandeis ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Madison 6-5. That's two games straight that the Broncos have won by just one run.

Marina Pichardo spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Peyton Miers, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Daryn Thienpont also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Brandeis' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12. As for SA Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.
