Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northside). They blew past the Chicago Academy Cougars 26-4 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

John Piper was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Mazur, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Northside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chicago Academy only managed one hit.

Northside now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Chicago Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Northside will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
