The Hendrickson Hawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Weiss Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hendrickson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Last Monday, it was close, but Hendrickson sidestepped Elgin for a 2-1 victory.

Kara Luongo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isabella Gonzales, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Weiss). Everything went their way against Elgin on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-4 win. The victory was nothing new for the Wolves as they're now sitting on four straight.

Hendrickson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Weiss, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.

Hendrickson skirted past Weiss 3-2 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
