Softball Game Preview: Bear River Bears vs. Stansbury Stallions

For the second straight game, Bear River will face off against Stansbury. The Bears will challenge the Stallions at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Bear River will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Bear River is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Stansbury an 11-0 shutout. Considering the Bears have won 18 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Bear River got a great performance from Kate Wilson as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Wilson has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bella Dougals was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Sami Theurer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs.

Bear River lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive matches.

Bear River's win bumped their record up to 27-2. As for Stansbury, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-12 record.
